Enfield Town Model Railway Club

Our exhibition for 2006

A report on the show by John Green on behalf of the Enfield Town MRC

The Club's 2006 Exhibition was held on Saturday, 24th June in St. Paul's Centre, Enfield Town. Ten layouts were on exhibition of 'N', 'TT', 'H0', '00', 'EM', '0' and 'G' scales and gauges. Six were provided by Club members and the other four friends from other clubs. There was also a display of large scale buses and locomotives owned by a Club member and four trade stands selling books, models and tools. Refreshments were served by our partners, both to exhibitors and visitors.

There was a good attendance of enthusiasts, the general public and families with children. They were most appreciative of the quality and variety of layouts. The exhibition was notable for the willing help given by all the Club members before, during and after the event. Already plans are being made for our next exhibition; same venue, same time of the year, but all different layouts. Watch this site for more details and come and see us.

Some photos taken at the show can be seen below.

'00' for the children   "Sandy Sidings", our new 'G' scale layout
Above left--- This is Brian's '00' gauge layout. The layout has been exhibited a number of times at various shows and always attracts a lot of attention, especially from our younger visitors. Children were allowed to have a go at driving a train around the layout, to the delight of many. Photo © P. Watson.
Above right--- The construction of our new 'G' Scale Club layout was sufficiently advanced to allow us to exhibit it in running order for the first time. Work will continue during club nights to add scenery and detail to the boards. Photo © P. Watson.

"Prospect Wharf"   Nostalgia

Above right--- Dave's Hornby-Dublo and Trix Twin layout attracted all ages - the older visitors for nostalgia, and the younger ones for the continuous action of three trains running at once. Photo © P. Watson.

"South Branch Terminal"   A busy scene
Above left--- Tony exhibited his new 'H0' scale American layout for the first time at our exhibition. There's a lot of detail and things of interest in a small space here. Photo © P. Watson.
Above right--- The traders occupied the central area and were kept pretty busy for much of the day. Items on sale included books, new and second hand locos and rolling stock. Photo © T. Rogers.

"Fursenhall"   A Traction Engine passes the hall
