Snow plough operates at the Mince Pie Specials ***
|
"For
the first time in 20 years we've had to use the snow plough at the Mince
Pie Specials" reports Roger Elkin.
Services
on the garden railway were severely disrupted when the 20:47 from Backford
to Bunbury got stuck in a snow drift between Backford and Stanton.
|
|
A
Heljan class 37 was despatched to clear the permanent way with the aid
of the snow plough (see photo below). The snow plough was particularly
effective and running resumed a short while later.

News
of the snow drift made the front cover of the 'Enfield Town Line' journal
shortly after the incident.
