Enfield Town Model Railway ClubRetired or Dismantled Layouts Section Dolgoch
Falls - '009' by Tony Minty
A '009' model of one of the intermediate stations on the Talyllyn Railway in mid-Wales, where the constructor is one of the operating volunteers. The layout is only 3ft long and consists of just a circle of track. Plywood was used for the main part of the layout and it is made to fold up to form a box for storage. I have models of the locos 'Dolgoch' and 'Sir Haydn', both locos and rolling stock are made from kits by most of the well known '009' manufacturers, track is 'Peco'. The full sized Talyllyn railway was the first in the world to be run by a preservation society and it operates daily from Easter to late October, details can be found at the Talyllyn website. If you have come to this page via the Talyllyn website, welcome! This page is part of the Enfield Town Model Railway Club site, you might like to go to our Index page for a look around. Text and
photo © T. Minty. As Tony's model had been around for some time, he decided, in April of 2003, that he would like to build a replacement '009' layout and so dismantled Dolgoch Falls. The rolling stock is now running on "Abergwynafon" in a different scenario. Ed revised 17th Oct 05. |
